Do you enjoy leading, coaching and motivating a team, while providing exceptional landscaping services to a diverse range of clients, Splendid Landscape Services Inc. is accepting applications for a part-time Supervisor/Groundskeeper/Landscaper working 40 hours per week. This individual will perform a variety of tasks related to supervision, horticultural and grounds maintenance. This position can become full-time, with the completion of a 3-month probation.

Start Date: Immediately

Salary: Starting at the range of $20 – $25/hour (Based on Experience)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Shall either hold current BCLNA certifications, or shall have successfully completed an apprenticeship, a recognized horticulture diploma or degree, or journeyman trade qualification.

3-5 years of horticulture and supervisory experience (Lawn Maintenance, Hedge and Shrub Trimming, Plant knowledge, Pruning)

Proficient operation of machinery and tools in a safe and efficient manner, such as a lawnmower, hedge trimmer, weed whacker, leaf blower, and ladder. Able to train employees in same.

Holds a valid B.C. Driver’s License and is able to drive a truck and trailer.

Knowledge of the materials and methods used in both horticulture and other related trades.

Must be able to speak, read and write in English.

Ability to communicate effectively, using courtesy and tact, in the explanation and exchange of information with both clients and employees.

Ability to determine, judge and select an appropriate course of action within the limits of established methods and procedures.

Physical ability to perform the required duties, including the ability to lift and handle heavy equipment (25-50 lbs) with safety and care.
